Maintaining Gardena’s Quality of Life Services

The City of Gardena offers a better quality of life than some other nearby communities and we want to continue to provide the essential city services that residents expect and deserve. In a City of Gardena Community Issues Survey conducted this year, 78% of residents believed the City has a real need for additional funds to provide the level of city services that residents need and want.

Residents also identified local priorities that they would like the City to continue to address, including:

Keeping Public Areas Safe and Clean
Repairing Streets and Potholes
Maintaining Firefighters and Paramedics
Maintaining 911 Emergency Services
Protecting Local Drinking Water Supplies
Maintaining Vital City Services
Maintaining Gang and Drug Prevention Programs
Maintain Senior Services

The City seeks to maintain quality services that many Gardena senior citizens and families rely on like free hot meals served at the senior center, and cultural and recreation programs. Additional locally-controlled funding is needed to make it possible to continue these important services, such as the City’s affordable supervised day care program for residents with dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease, giving Gardena’s working families peace-of-mind knowing that their parents and grandparents are safe.

As part of this year’s budget process, we want to YOU to Get Involved Gardena! Please take a moment to share YOUR voice.

We appreciate your feedback as we continue to engage the public on Gardena’s quality of life and fiscal sustainability.
