The City of Gardena Department of Recreation and Human Services offers sports programming throughout the year. Free Football, Soccer, Basketball and Softball Clinics are offered for boys and girls ages 5 to 14 years to provide instruction in sports fundamentals and teach good sportsmanship in a structured environment. The Gardena Youth Sports Advisory board provides support and awards programs for participants, coaches and volunteers.
Adult sports programs provide league play in such sports as basketball, softball and volleyball. An exercise and lap-walking program for seniors is held daily in the Rush Gymnasium. Classes are given in tennis, martial arts, aerobics and zumba.
