PUBLIC SERVICE GOAL: To receive, safeguard, maintain availability and efficiently manage all City funds while providing the highest level of customer service.

The City Treasurer’s Office is responsible for the receipt, disbursement and investment of all City funds so that public funds are available to be used, as required, to meet the needs of the citizens of Gardena and so that idle funds can be invested to assure that principal is protected, liquidity is maintained and yields are safely maximized. The City Treasurer provides monthly investment reports to the City Council and citizens of Gardena. The City Treasurer is elected to a four-year term and, like the Mayor and Council, does not serve the City on a full-time basis. A full-time Deputy Treasurer and Senior Account Clerk provide assistance to this elected position
